What should I do if the Audi dealership says they “Cannot reproduce the issue”?
Do not worry. This is something we hear all the time. This should not discourage you from following the steps outlined above.
Document the issue and save it in your records in case you need to pursue a Lemon Law claim. To qualify as a Lemon the manufacturer must fail to repair the vehicle after a reasonable number of repair attempts.
Generally, courts will allow four repair attempts before your car becomes a Lemon. However, if the mechanical problem creates a serious safety issue, only two repair attempts may be allowed before your Audi is considered a Lemon. Additionally, if the Audi is in the repair shop for 30 days or more altogether, courts consider the manufacturer to have made a reasonable number of repairs so the car can be classified as a Lemon.

Is the Dealership struggling to repair your Audi?
Dealerships have a reasonable number of repair attempts under California Law. After that, the car could be declared a Lemon. If your car has been in the shop twice for a safety concern, or four times for a normal mechanical issue, or has sat in the shop for 30 days, it is likely to qualify. Even though Audi is a luxury brand, Lemons do happen! Among other issues, customers have had oil leaks, electrical problems, belts/timing issues, clunking sounds, and exhaust problems.
Did Your Audi's Problems Begin During the Warranty Period?
To be considered a Lemon the Audi needs to have still been under warranty when the problems and repair attempts began. Likewise, repair attempts must have begun within 18,000 miles or 18 months of purchase. Of course, these requirements are in addition to the reasonable number of repair attempts mentioned above.
Common Audi Lemon Problems
According to mechanics, Audi owners frequently report problems with the following:
- Oil Leaks or Excessive Consumption
- Electrical Problems
- Timing Belt Issues
- Clunking Sounds
- Spark Plug Issues
- Engine Failure or Bad Piston

Audi is not immune from recalls just because it is a luxury car brand. In fact, in 2020-2021 Audi issued recalls affecting over 30,000 vehicles! Some of these recalls included:
- Audi Q7 Airbag Control Module Recall
- Audi A5 Wiring Recall
- Airbag Recalls on 2021 Audi RS6 Avant, RS7, 2020-2021 A6 Allroad, S6 Sedan, S7, 2019-2021 A6 Sedan, and A7 vehicles.
Recalls are usually only made when there is a safety issue involved. Serious safety issues make it more likely that your car can be determined to be a Lemon since the Dealership gets fewer repair attempts for serious safety issues.
If any of these problems impact your car, get in contact with our Audi Lemon Attorneys today! Fill out the intake form at the top of this page or call 323-51-LEMON (53666).
